Air Tahiti Group
Regular domestic air transport
AIR TAHITI exercises its domestic air transport activity, within the framework of the “Convention for the harmonious development of inter-island air transport”, signed with the government of French Polynesia in 1986 and running until the end of 2011.
Its purpose is to define a framework for air transport and the implementation of a minimum service program in accordance with the government’s policy of opening up remote islands by air. It provides for the approval of the annual programs of regular flights by the government and its information of all pricing initiatives. In return, Air Tahiti has a minimum level of activity, without a legal monopoly on air service.
In 2018, the airline Air Tahiti celebrated its 60th anniversary of serving tourists and the Polynesian population.
Air Tahiti is a private Polynesian company, responsible for public service missions. The company is a driving force for the economic and social development of the archipelagos and a leader in the development of tourism in French Polynesia.
